CAPSTONE PROJECT
Our
Story
I partnered with Amelia York for my capstone project and we were fueled by our desperate need to protect the world we care so greatly about. We are both deeply connected to the earth and try our best to protect and give back to the world and these qualities made us a great team. We are both pursuing careers in environmental science, with Amelia focusing on sustainability, and I am focusing on how the environment affects the animals. Our partnership throughout the project allowed our friendship to blossom and brought out the best ideas from the both of us. We partnered with many influential people who helped guide us and help us reach our goals. It has been through this project that we have been given the amazing opportunity to become the first Northeast Coast partner with Matter of Trust. Matter of Trust is a non-profit organization that makes hair mats that naturally soak up oil, heavy metals, and chemical pollution leaving clean water behind. This project has combined both of our best qualities and allowed us to pursue a multitude of wonderful opportunities.

Amelia York
Co-Founder
Amelia is a senior at HHS, and is interested in the environment and what young people can do to help. She is good at organization and communication and likes to reach out to people to learn more. She is looking forward to making a difference in the community.

Brenna Fisk
Co-Founder
Brenna is a senior at HHS and she is passionate about the environment and how it is affected by pollution. She is good at taking notes which as helped as we interviewed our contacts and gathered information. She is excited to work with Amelia as they both pursue Environmental majors in College.
